2. Information we collect
What you give us. When you request quotes, we collect the details you submit through our quote form, such as your name, email address, phone number, business type, business location, and approximate monthly electricity bill.
What is collected automatically. Our Site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which, like most hosts, may log technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested. The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when fonts are requested.
Third-party services on the Site. Our quote form is provided by Tally (tally.so) and is embedded on our pages; information you enter into the form is processed by Tally on our behalf and may involve cookies or similar technologies set by Tally. Links to Amazon are affiliate links; if you click one, Amazon may set cookies and handle your information under its own policies. We do not currently run analytics or advertising trackers on the Site; if that changes, we will update this policy.
3. How we use your information
- To match you with up to three commercial solar installers and pass along your quote request.
- To contact you about your request, and to respond to your messages.
- To operate, secure and improve the Site and our guides.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4. Who we share it with
- Installer partners. When you submit a quote request, we share it with up to three solar installers so they can contact you with a proposal. Once shared, an installer’s use of your information is governed by its own privacy policy and practices.
- Service providers that help us run the Site and receive form submissions (for example, our form provider and hosting provider).
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety or property.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or unrelated third parties. Sharing your quote request with installer partners, as described above, may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under some state privacy laws. You can ask us to stop sharing your information or to delete it by contacting us (see Section 7).
5. Contact about your request
By submitting the quote form you agree that FlipSolar and the installers you are matched with may contact you about your request by email or phone using the details you provided. You are not required to submit a quote request to read our guides, and you are under no obligation to hire any installer.
6. How long we keep information
We keep quote requests for as long as needed to complete matching and maintain our business records, then delete or de-identify them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to not be treated unfavorably for exercising these rights. To make a request, email {{EMAIL}}. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time required by law. Where required, we will pass deletion or opt-out requests on to the installers who received your information. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email.
8. Children
The Site is intended for business owners and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date above shows the latest revision; continued use of the Site means you accept the updated policy.
